How To Use a Big Blade Snow Shovel?
“Start in the middle and be done in a little”
Back inside with your feet near the fire, sipping a hot cocoa.
This means by starting in the middle of the surface to be cleared and be done in a little while!
When you’re learning how to use a Big Blade snow shovel, it’s important to follow a basic guideline. You should start in the middle of the area to be cleared and work side to side, this way the snow doesn’t have a chance to build up and get heavy. The snow will be right where it needs to be, then turn around and do the same thing on the other side of the surface to be cleared.
Always try to use the tool the same way as to develop a beveled edge on it, so when needed, you can flip it over and use it to clear tire pack snow from the any surface.
When ice removal is desired start by allowing the sun to heat up the surface a bit even if it’s still below freezing the sun will beat on and melt some of the surface ice this will help loosen it from the surface. Then by making the first break 3-4” in from the edge, and working back until all the ice is all broken up.

Guidelines
For best results, always use the tool on the same side. This will help sharpen the edge as used. To clear platforms, simply grab the handles at an offset, which will angle the tool to direct the snow to one side and off the platform. Or, start at the center of the area to be cleared and work to one side and then the other, to prevent heavy snow buildup. Proceed until the area is clear.
Clearing Car Tracks
If cars are present, first clear behind the vehicle, and if possible, move the vehicle altogether. Next, clear the parking space. If packed tire tracks are present, simply turn the Big Blade over so that the beveled edge does all the work. Push up against the track, and the tire packed snow should flake right up.
